HR Business Partner

About this Role:
As our Human Resources Business partner, you’ll help create a workplace where people feel supported, respected, and set up to succeed—so our teams can deliver life-changing experiences for girls. You’ll lead core HR operations, strengthen culture and compliance, and ensure smooth day-to-day office functioning across GSNENY.Day to day, this means:
- Own recruitment for our full-time/part-time staff as well as our seasonal camp staff, ensuring a strong recruitment process and on-time hiring of qualified candidates.
- Lead and oversee core HR operations, including employee relations, hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS maintenance, payroll coordination, and compliance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters (performance concerns, conflict resolution, investigations, and policy guidance)
- Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and Girl Scouts policies
- Partner with leadership to support a strong organizational culture, employee engagement, and retention strategies
- Administer employee benefits programs (health, retirement, leave, etc.), including vendor relationships, open enrollment, and employee education
- Maintain and optimize the HRIS to ensure accurate employee data, reporting, and continuous process improvement
- Collaborate with Finance to align payroll, benefits, separations, notices, and related documentation
- Lead the annual performance management cycle, including goal-setting, evaluations, timelines, and communications
- Deploy and implement tools and resources provided by GSUSA to strengthen HR practices and staff support
The ideal candidate can build trusted relationships with leaders and staff, coach managers, and provide responsive HR support in order to drive a positive employee experience and to retain staff. They can handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism, fairness, and integrity, and assess situations thoughtfully and recommend practical, compliant solutions. Additional required and preferred experience includes:
- 5+ years of experience independently managing core HR functions, such as employee relations issues, benefits administration, and providing HR support for payroll processing.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a track record of managing processes accurately and on time.
- Experience using HRIS and payroll systems such as Paycom
- Knowledge of HR compliance and employment law for NY State
