​​About this Role:

As our Human Resources Manager, you’ll help create a workplace where people feel supported, respected, and set up to succeed—so our teams can deliver life-changing experiences for girls. You’ll lead core HR operations, strengthen culture and compliance, and ensure smooth day-to-day office functioning across GSNENY.

Day to day, this means:
 

  • Managing HR Operations: Oversee all parts of the employee lifecycle, including hiring, advancement, and termination, and ensure the HRIS accurately reflects all staff information.
  • Policy and Regulatory Controls: Maintain Council policy guidance, and ensure the employee handbook accurately reflects regulatory changes.
  • Payroll Administration: Process biweekly payroll fully, in partnership with Finance. Support staff and supervisors in their timecard submission and approval to ensure hourly staff are paid correctly.
  • Benefits Administration: Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits at the Council. Select plans, and ensure that all benefit changes are accurately reflected in Employee Navigator.
  • Recruitment: Drive end to end hiring processes, including job definition, candidate screening, and interview scheduling. Ensure teams are educated on effective interview and hiring practices.
  • New Hire Onboarding: Coordinate and execute a structured onboarding process for all new hires.
  • Performance Management: Ensure all staff receive developmental feedback throughout their tenure, including 90 day touch points, informal reviews, and formal performance reviews.
​​About You:

The ideal candidate has deep experience with Payroll and HR administration, and can provide responsive HR support in order to drive a positive employee experience and to retain staff. They can handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism, fairness, and integrity, and assess situations thoughtfully and recommend practical, compliant solutions. Additional required and preferred experience includes:

  • 5-7 years of experience independently managing payroll, benefits, and HR operations.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a track record of managing processes accurately and on time.
  • Experience using HRIS and payroll systems such as Checkwriters, ADP Workforce Now, etc.
  • Knowledge of HR compliance and employment law for NY State
